Iconic photographs show the true modern-day western U.S.

from Reader's Digest Magazine | May 2006

Award-winning photographer Robb Kendrick traveled 18,000 miles to shoot his subjects: work-worn cowboys and cowgirls. Using his art’s most traditional form, the 19th-century tintype, he created iconic images of some of today’s most rugged individualists — “and I never styled anyone,” he says. His photos are being celebrated in museums across Texas and in a gorgeous new book, Revealing Character (Bright Sky Press).
