Go around your house and unplug everything that you are not using. This has saved me lots of money on my electric bill. It's easy to plug my toaster in, use it, then unplug it again! I do this with lots of items around my home!

My friend was just scammed by a telemarketing company calling on behalf of Reader's Digest and several other magazines. They offered her all kinds of trips and prizes to get these magazines. Even after saying no to them they somehow asked the right questions to get her billing information. Now they are deducting money from her checking act every month and sending tons of magazines. Over a 2 year period she will have to pay over 900.00. What is wrong with Reader Digest to scam its loyal cust

Same, same, if you are saving money you are also making money. Your thinking needs to be tweaked just a little and be open to anything that saves $. Money saved is money saved. Like over-the-air tv - with this new DTV over-the-air broadcasts no one should be paying for cable or satellite or any other of those subscription "services" ... which really don't value the customer. It just doesn't make sense to pay to be abused and not only that why pay for something that's now free. Fab!

Most of us don't spend that much on batteries to have it make any impact on income. Also the mistakes that the machines make at the grocery store when you check out are a better place to look for money. My husband looked for a new job, and 15 interviews later found a significant raise; one way to make money. I have also observed a lot of garage sales.

When your batteries die, file both ends with an emery board. They will come back to life for a while longer! Gets you a few extra weeks on the TV remote! JanEmeryRiggs@aol.com
