Contest Rules
1. This contest is open to U.S. residents 18 years of age or older. Employees and immediate family members of Reader's Digest or its affiliated or subsidiary companies are not eligible to participate. Contest is governed by laws of the USA. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void in Colorado and where prohibited by law.
2. Entrants must submit an anecdote about mistakes they've made while cooking. The winner of the Contest will be determined by judging all the entrants' submissions based on the following criteria: 50% humor, 50% originality. All judging will be accomplished by a panel of RD.com editors. Decision of the judges is final. One winner will be selected. All prizes will be awarded.
3. Submit your entries by sending an email to cooking@rd.com. All entries must be received by 11:59 pm on August 4, 2006. Entries must include your full name, address, city, state, ZIP, and email address. If entries do not contain all necessary information, entrant will be disqualified. Please be certain to follow all directions.
4. Sponsor is not responsible for any damage to user's system or from downloading any information necessary to participate in the contest. Limit one entry per person. Entry must be the original work of entrant and not previously published. All entries become the property of Reader's Digest and will not be returned. All contributions may be edited.
Prize Information
5. Prize: Pasta Italia. Total retail value: $29.95. Prize is not redeemable for cash. RD.com reserves the right to substitute prizes for those with similar or greater value.
6. Winner will be determined on or about August 7, 2006, and notified by email within two weeks of that date. Winners will be required to agree to the use of their name and likeness and entry for promotional purposes (except where prohibited by law).
7. Reader's Digest reserves the right to terminate or modify this contest at any time. In this event, winners will be selected based on entries received to date of termination. In the event two substantially similar entries are received, the entry received first will be included in the judging.
8. Odds of winning are dependent on the number of entries received. The approximate numerical odds of winning are 1 in 10,000.
