You can get just about everything you need for healthy cleaning at the grocery store without ever wandering down the commercial cleaning aisle. Here's a shopping list from cleaning expert Mary Findley, president of Mary Moppins Cleaning System:

  • 1 gallon white vinegar

  • 1 bottle rubbing alcohol

  • 1 large box baking soda

  • 1 gallon distilled water

  • Ivory liquid dishwashing detergent

  • An oxygen-based cleaning product like Bio-Ox (www.bio-ox.com)

  • Nature's Miracle (found at most pet stores or in the pet aisle)

  • Foaming shaving cream

  • Hydrogen peroxide (in the first-aid aisle)

  • Also pick up three or four spray bottles. Use each bottle for the make-your-own cleaning products listed above.
