SLIP-ON SPOUTS slide over 1/2-in. copper pipe and fasten with a setscrew. This "universal" version also has threads inside, so it can screw onto threaded pipe.

I replaced a spout because it was not shutting off the water to the shower head when I pushed down on the diverter button, but the new one won't shut-off either. What would cause this?
