Classic Mulled Cider

A mug of this classic apple cider will warm you up on a cold winter night.

Cooking time: 35 minutes

You Will Need
10 cups apple cider
20 whole cloves
20 black peppercorns
Twelve 3" x 1/2" strips orange zest (orange part only)
2 cinnamon sticks, cracked
2 vanilla beans, split

What to Do
1. In a large saucepan over moderate heat, bring all ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat, and set aside to steep for 30 minutes.

2. Strain mixture. Just before serving, reheat until mixture begins to steam. Ladle into mugs, wait 3 to 5 minutes, then serve.
