1. Strip at least 8 in. of the plastic sheathing off one end of the cable and thread the wires through the electrical box cable entrance. Make sure that about 1/2 in. of the plastic sheathing at the base of the exposed wires projects inside the box. Staple the cable within 8 in. of the box. Space cables at least 1-1/4 in. from the front and back of framing members.
