Steps 9 to 12

9. Shadow stamp the large piece of watercolor paper. Make a dense background of blocks, flowers, butterflies, and leaves. Leave to dry.

10. Put a dot of silicone glue on the back of each flower and stick it to the background. Position the flowers randomly.

11. Apply a little glue to the stalk end of each leaf and stick them on. Tuck the glue end under the petals of the flowers.

12. Finally, stick on the butterflies, sticking some of the background and some onto the flowers. Fit the picture into the frame.

A senior in high school, and a few years away from becoming a U.S. citizen, I received a recruiting call from the Army. "That's okay," he answered understandingly. "We take liberals too."
