Steps 1 to 4

You don't need to be very artistic to make this elegant project -- simple stamping and punching techniques will do most of the work for you.

You Will Need
  • Small punched flower stamp

  • Purple, yellow, and green watercolor pens

  • Strips of watercolor paper

  • Fine paintbrush

  • Water

  • Small flower punch

  • Foam mat

  • Butterfly and leaf punched stamps and punches

  • Piece of watercolor paper to fit picture frame

  • Block stamp

  • Pale purple, green, yellow, and pink ink pads

  • Silicone glue

  • Picture frame

What to Do
1. Color the flower stamp with purple and yellow pens. Make the petals purple and the center yellow.

2. Stamp a strip of watercolor paper with flowers. Recolor the stamp every second or third time to produce stronger and paler flowers.

3. Using a fine paintbrush and water, smudge the colors to create a watercolor effect. Leave to dry.

4. Turn the strip over and scribble on the back of it with the purple and yellow pens.

Most businesses like that our credit card machines automatically print "Thank you, please come again" at the bottom of receipts. Though one guy called to ask if I could take it off.

"It just seems inappropriate," he answered. "We're a funeral home."
