Rubber ducks make a huge splash in Cincinnati each year. How huge? As 85,000, all wearing sunglasses, float down the Ohio River (to the cheers of thousands watching from the sidelines), they help raise nearly half a million dollars a year for the Freestore Foodbank, which serves 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Each duck sells for $5, or grab six for $25. First one to cross the finish line wins a new car for its owner. Now, that’s no lame duck.
