New York hauls the most people, and Chicago does a fine job of moving its citizens through wind, sleet and snow. But The Bus, as it’s known in Oahu, has them beat. Covering Honolulu and the surrounding area, The Bus has twice received top awards from the American Public Transportation Association. A vital service for commuters, it’s one of the few municipal systems that also caters to tourists. Sure, it does the obligatory airport run, but it also makes stops at Pearl Harbor and Waikiki. If you need help with your boogie board, no problem. Audible instructions will get you seated and on your way.
