The Angeles Crest Highway (aka California Route 2) isn’t merely beautiful. It also offers enough twists and turns to challenge any driver’s skills. This 66-mile stretch of road heads north from Glendale, outside L.A., into the San Gabriel Mountains. But don’t all ooh and aah at once; someone needs to keep an eye on the road. The late Andre Idzikowski, former road-test coordinator for Car and Driver magazine said, “It’s definitely not someplace you’d want to mess up, because if you do, you could go over the edge.”
