Cigarette lighters are still pretty much standard in cars, but how many of us actually use them to spark tobacco? (Fewer and fewer, if you believe this recent study on teens in Time.com.)
Smoking aside, you can get a lot of use out of those little round outlets. Powering cell phones? Obviously. But how about blenders or HDTVs?
Wired‘s Gadget Lab blog recently rounded up “8 Awesome Gadgets” that all run on the power from a car’s 12V cigarette lighter, and nothing says “progress”—or “best road trip ever”—like tossing the cancer sticks aside in favor of a car-powered slow cooker.
