About the Blogger: Peggy Northrop Peggy Northrop

Peggy Northrop became editor in chief of Reader’s Digest in December 2007. She began her career in newspapers and went on to hold senior positions at a number of magazines, including More (where she was editor in chief for 3 years), Vogue, Glamour, Redbook (executive editor) and Real Simple (deputy editor). During her tenure with More, the magazine earned many of the magazine industry’s most coveted honors, including Advertising Age’s 2006 Magazine of the Year and a National Magazine Award nomination for General Excellence. She has been a regular contributor to The Today Show, the CBS Early Show and PBS’s To The Contrary. She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Magazine Editors and is active with the international humanitarian organization CARE. Peggy grew up in Washington, Pennsylvania, and attended college at Kenyon College in Ohio before earning a B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
