When Texas kids started gaining weight, Agriculture Commissioner Susan Combs took a long cafeteria lunch break. Sure enough, she found vending machines full of junk. Her plan, unveiled in March: Offer healthier eats. Frito-Lay stepped up to the plate with reduced-fat popcorn, Quaker Fruit & Oatmeal snacks, and low-sugar juice drinks. Yogurt is also available, and Texas's Farm-to-School program provides fresh produce -- so kids' mouths are watering over low-fat chicken fajitas and other yummy recipes.
