I'm very fortunate to receive lots of emails from the women in the Make Mine a Million $ Business community who want to tell me about their good news.  It seems like in the last few weeks they've been coming even more frequently, which actually doesn't come as a too big a surprise, even in these "dark times."  When times are hard, the first instinct of so many women in our community is to get more assertive, more optimistic about new opportunities, and more eager to share support with each other.  That's definitely the case with Make Mine a Million $ Business Awardee and M3 Racer Sharon Brown of EOSS, Inc., which offers engineering, environmental, and health and safety solutions to real estate developers and businesses as well as state and federal governments.  Here's the email she sent me a few days ago:

"I wanted to share this good news!  EOSS was one of 199 firms selected for the Seaport Rolling Admissions Award.  The contract award is $5,300,000,000.00 ($5.3 billion) over a 5 year base contract term.  We bid the project in October 2008.  CMI has been instrumental in my perpetual enthusiasm to pursue work in the face of difficult odds.  Hundreds of firms compete and that usually discourages me; however, I have the great network of support that comes from a kind email from an M3er or an uplifting note from CMI staff.  This kind of moral supports helps dark times seem a little brighter. 

The coaching with Jonathan from The Coach Connection has been an absolute benefit to my sticktoitness!  Jonathan helps me see my goals more clearly and he helps me find the tools to execute my plan more precisely.

It should be noted that we still compete for task orders within the contract, but we've strategically positioned ourselves to get the task orders assigned to EOSS because we opened our office in Washington, DC and we laid out a strategy to screen new hires quickly by using Hire Image (another M3er). 

I have meetings all morning and I need to pick my son up from wrestling practice right now.  I am swamped in a GOOD way!"
