Women entrepreneurs can help save the American economy

If anyone doubts why I believe so strongly that the women entrepreneurs can help save the American economy, please read the message I received from Kimberly Martinez when I turned on my blackberry today.  Kimberly left her position as a financial services executive to start Bonitas International, which produces Boojee Beads  - beautiful beaded ID card holders that women love to wear.  She won the Make Mine a Million $ Business Award in 2006, and just announced she grew to over $2 million in revenue in 2008.

"I have to tell you how much comfort I got from you when I had the pleasure to attend the Make Mine a Million $ Business event in North Carolina...this was after two months of the world going to hell in a handbag...

At that event you said something that was akin to the fact that all WE could do was grow our businesses and create jobs so we can pull our way out of this mess. It was the wake up advice I needed in a paralyzing time.

Since that time I have focused on exactly that-and in this economy hired three people with a fourth offer outright now.

Listen to the news? I would still be in bed with the covers over my head. I choose to listen to M3 instead.

In tough times smart businesses find a way to thrive.  I wanted to let you know that as of today I am officially signed up for the M3 RACE and will be getting the businesses I mentor to sign up in the next week.

I know where I am headed.  Buckle up ladies and gentlemen, and prepare for turbulence ahead, we are accelerating to 35,000 feet..."

Kimberly, and hundreds of other women entrepreneurs just like her, have already joined the Make Mine a Million $ Business RACE (M3 RACE) because they believe in growing their businesses in 2009.  Race alongside our community of positive, confident, supportive women by getting your business into the M3 RACE at http://www.makemineamillion.org/

Many women entrepreneurs will be put out of business as of 2/10/9 thanks to a law that takes effect that day that will prohibit the resale or sale of items geared towards kids without testing them for toxins! It will be illegal to resell used kids items or handmade items. Putting resale shops, and crafters out of jobs. PLEASE research the CPSIA law and help us stop it. I am not making this up, or pulling your leg. All these "used" items will end up in landfills after that date.

These beads are such a great idea! It's amazing how much her business has grown on this idea.
