The People: Tammy Felton and the kids of Sing! Sing! Sing!
The Cause: Children's Miracle Network

Springfield, MO -- If you see a group of children in Missouri singing and dancing at a local grocery store, they are likely from Tammy Felton's program, Sing! Sing! Sing!, trying to sell tickets to their next show. Felton's performance troupes present over 100 shows a year to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.

Children's Miracle Network (CMN), started by the Osmond family over twenty years ago, is a group of the best children's hospitals in the country and treats over 17 million children a year for an array of injuries and diseases. Felton used to work with the Osmonds in the entertainment industry, and they inspired her to put her entertainment background to good use to raise money for CMN. She came up with Sing! Sing! Sing!

At the heart of Felton's program is the concept of kids giving back to kids. Seven out of the almost forty performers of Sing! Sing! Sing! are patients of CMN, which inspires all of the performers to sing their hearts out and raise as much as they can for this worthy cause.

In 2006, Sing! Sing! Sing! raised $20,000 for CMN and is hoping to raise $50,000 this year with performances across 34 Missouri counties, including its big production of High School Musical 2.

In his attempt to put a new patient at ease during a checkup, my friend, a gynecologist, struck up a casual conversation. After noticing the label on her sandals read "Hecho en Mexico," he asked, "So, when were you in Mexico?"

Flummoxed, the patient asked, "You can tell all that from a pelvic exam?"
