But New York location scout Mitchell Brozinsky, who has done work for Law & Order and NYPD Blue, recently found an outdated basement with shag carpet, bar and wood paneling for an Xbox commercial.
Homeowners could make up to $8,000 a day. The first step to marketing your property for films is to contact the folks at your local film commission (afci.org). Then ask:
- If you can send exterior and interior photographs of your home for their files.
- For the names and addresses of scouts in your area, and send photos directly to them.
- For the names of licensed location agencies, who will actively market your home to production companies for a commission or fee.
