- Withdraw U.S. troops in phases, beginning immediately, and re-deploy some of those troops to Afghanistan.
- Engage neighboring states and Arab nations to help secure Iraq’s future.
- Boost reconstruction efforts to restore basic services in Iraq.
Health Care
- Create a national health program, available to individuals and small businesses, to cover the uninsured.
- Make it mandatory to provide coverage to all children.
- Expand eligibility for Medicaid and that State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
- Require hospitals to collect and report data on the cost and quality of health care.
Gay Marriage / Abortion
- Opposes gay marriage, but supports civil unions.
- Pro-Choice.
Energy
- Reduce the amount of carbon in transportation fuels 10% by 2020.
- Raise the domestic fuel economy standards for cars.
- Expand the use of Ethanol and Hybrid cars.
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and set up an auction for those emissions to fund exploration for alternative fuels.
Immigration
- Add personnel, and improve infrastructure and technology, at our borders and ports of entry.
- Crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants.
- Create a Guest Worker program.
- Institute an amnesty program, but only after border security goals have been met.
National Security
- Expand US ground forces by 80,000 troops.
- Consider U.S. military action in Pakistan to target known terrorists.
- Increase economic pressure on Iran.
- Pursue greater transparency and accountability with Russia.
It is blatantly clear Senator Obama knows nothing about foreign policy or military actions. We have to stay the course in Iraq, along with the actions taking place in Afghanistan(sp) to include more troops. The US cannot be spread all over the place. And, since he is quite obviously unfamiliar with military operations and what needs to be done and where.He is not qualified to be President. He is a "used car salesman" who is trying to sell the American Public vehicles that will not work.
