Here my son, Johnathan, and I are enjoying one of the first beautiful days of the summer. We decided to visit Blue Mountain Reservation Park, in Peekskill, NY, for some of the area's breathtaking views. In this picture, we're watching a mommy goose and her ducklings swim in the cool pond water.

Beautiful Mystery Flower

Submitted by Christine Dierbeck, Vernon Hills, IL

This is a closeup of the flowers in my backyard. I have no idea what kind of flower it is! A closer look can change a flower in amazing ways. This little one-inch bloom looks like it is made of silk, but it opened up to show a bright orange center. Amazing.

Ute Trail

Submitted by Julie Bain, New York City

Here I am on the Ute Trail, an old Indian path above the timberline, at about 14,000 feet, in Rocky Mountain National Park. Any mountaintop feels like a spiritual place to me, where the air is thin and clear and the world doesn't weigh heavily on you.
