Phoebe Ferguson is a New Orleans native. She worked as a successful photographer and filmmaker in New York City for 20 years. Right after Katrina, she drove a truck full of supplies from Brooklyn, New York to a family that lost everything in New Orleans. Eight months later, she moved back to her roots and started work on a documentary, Member of the Club: A New Orleans Cinderella Story, about African American debutantes and the city's black social clubs.
