One of the most dreaded side effects of chemotherapy may be kept to a minimum if patients keep a cool head. Researchers in the Netherlands found that scalp cooling-patients wear an electronically chilled cap-reduces the chances that hair will fall out. The technology is used in Europe, but more studies are necessary before the FDA will approve it for use here.
