Patching Chipped and Pitted Concrete Sidewalks and Stairs



You can repair broken corners, cracks, crumbling surfaces and spalled areas of concrete with a durable concrete patch.

Steps 9 - 11

9. Square off the edges of the broken step with a masonry blade. Chip out loose and weak concrete with a cold chisel.

10. Anchor a form board against the side of the step, moisten the area and pack in the repair mix. Screed off the excess patching material.

11. Slide an edging tool along the step edge to round it. Use the edging tool only if the old step portion has a rounded edge.
