I had finished connecting the faucet and drain assemblies for a new bathroom pedestal sink I was installing for my in-laws. I balanced the sink on the pedestal base and gently eased the unit against the wall, ready for final installation. Then I went to the basement to check on the connecting plumbing. While there, I decided to remove some old copper piping with my reciprocating saw. I finished cutting and returned to the bathroom to find my father-in-law standing in the doorway, looking shocked. The saw’s vibrations had toppled the sink and pedestal, shattering them both. The only thing I could think to say was, “I’m glad you decided not to get the more expensive model.”
