I decided to install an extra shower in the basement. I measured the rough dimensions and ordered the shower door so it would arrive when the project was complete. When it came time to install the drain, I discovered that I’d have to raise the shower base 6 in. higher than we’d planned. “No big deal,” I thought. We went ahead with the change. When the glass doors finally arrived, I discovered they were too tall. I cut the mounting tracks to fit and took the doors over to a glass shop to shorten them. “Tempered glass doors can’t be cut,” they told me. In a panic, I found some shorter bypass doors but discovered they were too wide and left only an 8-in. space to get out! I couldn’t use them, either. We now have a shower curtain.
