I had to tear out the drywall ceiling as part of our bathroom remodeling project. A smart do-it-your selfer might have crawled up into the attic before hand to investigate what was above the ceiling. A smarter DIYer might have removed the 16 in. of scratchy, loose-blown fiberglass insulation that was up there. Not me. I ripped into the ceiling from below and was immediately covered head to toe with a gigantic mound of the itchy stuff. Twenty garbage bags of insulation and many, many showers later, I can look back and laugh at my stupidity.
