Are you ready for some football? We love AOL’s idea to “think of a Super Bowl party as an indoor picnic.” What could be more fun than tossing the forks and knives and digging in with friends and family.

Their rules for the big game:

1. “It’s the time for lots of finger-food snacks” such as nachos, stuffed jalapenos, guacamole, chips and dip and awesome chicken wings.

2. “Choose a main course that is easily consumed with a fork or spoon” such as chili or a delicious Crab Gumbo.  A huge sandwich packed with cold cuts is another option.

3. “Plan on a minimum of two snacks but better yet, a selection of three or four.” People like variety when just hanging out.

4. ” Divide snacks among several bowls and place them strategically around the room to improve traffic flow and keep the TV unobstructed.” Let your guest mingle freely.

5. “Two desserts–one warm and rich, the other light and fruity-so there’s something for everyone.” Try out these lava cakes for a chocolate sensation. Feel free to make the mix and refrigerate. Throw them in the oven during the 3rd quarter. Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Bars will satisfy those fruit lovers in the crowd.

Amount of Food You Need
Salsa: 1/4 to 1/3 cup salsa per person.

Chips: 2 ounces per person

Chicken wings: 3 pounds for 6 as a starter

Chili: 2 pounds of meat to serve 4 people

Drinks: Make it 2 people per bottle of wine, and 2 people per six-pack
