- Basic Sugar Cookie Dough
- Basic Frosting
- Square cookie cutter, any preferred size
- Food coloring (red and greens)
- Disposable frosting bags
- Size “4” decorating tips
- Rubber bands
- White rolled fondant*
- Wax paper
- Sharp knife
- Light corn syrup
How to make it
Follow the Basic Decorating Instructions to tint frosting with red or green coloring and prepare frosting bags with size “4” decorating tip. Outline squares with red or green frosting and let set about 15 minutes. Flood the squares with thinned, red or green frosting and let set well, at least an hour.
For the bows, knead and roll out white rolled fondant between two pieces of wax paper about 1/8 inch thick. Cut squares with the cookie cutter to use as a sizing guide. Cut thin strips with the sharp knife and adhere to squares with light corn syrup. Make loops with the thin strips to create bows. Let dry overnight before packaging cookies. Tip: If fondant gets sticky or difficult to work with, let sit uncovered at room temperature for 15 minutes.
