It’s fun to prepare this special drink in front of your guests and serve it with a flourish.
How to make it 5 minutes
Make a pot of strong coffee, and pour it into heatproof stemmed glasses or clear cups, each containing a large measure of Irish whiskey (or bourbon). Sweeten to taste — it’s the sugar that keeps the cream floating on top of the coffee.
Then, over the back of a large spoon, gently pour thick cream so that it forms a luxurious, even coating on the surface of the coffee. Drink through the cream — and enjoy. It should be very hot, and very strong!
