Kids are more likely to try a new food if they’ve helped prepare or cook it. Have kids help measure ingredients for this great after-school treat.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter, cut into cubes
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 pound grated cheddar cheese
- Apple slices for dipping

Melt butter over low heat in small pot.

Add flour; whisk well. Slowly add milk.

When warm, add cheese a bit at a time, stirring till melted. Serve with apple slices. Makes 4 to 6 snacks.
