There's no substitute for sunscreen -- but after you slather, a few enjoyable moves may further raise your protection from skin cancer. Try drinking half a glass of wine daily and eating a serving of oily fish once a week: People who did either of those things were 27 percent less likely to develop precancerous skin tumors in a five-year study of 1,119 adults.

Wine is rich in quercetin, resveratrol, and other antioxidants known to prevent tumors in mice, says study author Maricel Hughes, an epidemiologist at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Australia.

Oily fish (such as salmon, tuna, and sardines) are famously good sources of omega-3 fatty acids -- which, human studies show, protect skin from damage from ultraviolet rays.

Bonus: These skin savers are good for your heart health too.
