How to Stay Safe: For each 4 feet of distance between ground and upper contact point, move base out 1 foot. Don't stand higher than fourth rung from top.

Your good tip on ladder safety shows a step ladder but seems to be aimed at regular ladders. How can you move the base of a step ladder out one foot for each four feet of height?
