Hope for tough cases. Relatively few drugs work against "triple negative" breast cancer -- tumors lacking receptors for estrogen, progesterone, and HER2. But a new category of drug called PARP inhibitors may change that. In a study of patients with advanced breast cancer, getting a PARP inhibitor along with chemo increased survival time by 50 percent -- a striking improvement if it holds up in further studies, researchers say.

I have a dear friend who had a digital mamogram 4 months ago & has just been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer! I'm very concerned about her since she had just had a mamogram. What happened? I lost my sister to breast cancer last November & the treatment was so hard on her. She only lived for 6 months. Looking for groundbreaking news on this front! Thanks, Sharon

Right-on, Glenna! Seems almost all research money is spent on medicines rather than nutrition. With all the information available on natural ways to prevent and reverse cancer you'd think more people would be willing to change their eating habits to improve their overall well-being.

Too bad there is no mention of how your diet affects breast cancer. Studies now show that the more dairy you eat, the more likely your chance of getting breast cancer. It is easier to prevent it than treat it. Books like "Eat to Live" and "The China Study" show us how much diet is a major factor in all types of cancer. If we would only do the research and apply it.
