If you're plagued by tennis elbow, an inexpensive gadget can offer big help, a new study shows.
At Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, researchers put sufferers on standard physical therapy, then had some patients add simple exercises using a flexible rubber bar called the FlexBar ($16 to $21 at amazon.com). FlexBar users improved by 76 percent on a disability test -- compared with a 12 percent boost for those on physical therapy alone. "The treatment was so superior, we stopped the study early to let the other patients get the same benefit," says researcher Timothy F. Tyler.
