Iris BioTechnologies is building a massive database to help women find the best treatment with the fewest side effects. The Santa Clara, California, company is asking cancer patients and healthy women to complete a survey, including family history and lifestyle details, at biowindows.com.
Iris will also create gene profiles from tissue samples sent in by doctors. The company can then tailor a treatment plan by matching clients to others with similar profiles who've successfully beaten the disease. No word yet on whether insurers will cover the customized plans.
