Despite its name, morning sickness can occur at any time of the day, but it usually disappears after the first 3 months of pregnancy. In order to ease the nausea and vomiting, try these strategies:

  • Eat dry cereal, crackers, or dry toast before you get out of bed.

  • Avoid greasy, fried, and spicy foods.

  • Instead of three big meals, eat several small meals during the day.

  • To quell nausea, sip ginger ale or suck candied ginger.

  • Try wearing an acupressure bracelet, such as those used to prevent motion sickness.

  • Have someone else prepare food if cooking odors provoke nausea.
