Wandering the beauty aisles of your local drugstore is a thing of the past. Beauty advisers are now on staff at my nationwide drug stores to help you pick out skin care products and make up that suits your needs.

How many times has a quick dash into the drugstore to pick up a cleanser turned into an hour of wandering the aisles, trying to decide which of the 100 products to try?

Next time, ask for help. Drugstores across the country are hiring "beauty advisors" to ease the indecision. Some 450 CVS/pharmacy stores have experts who offer advice. Some even give skin consultations and demonstrate products on willing shoppers. CVS began providing the free service after research found that 80% of their customers wanted the same attention they get at department stores. And with the increasing popularity of male grooming products, guys can also benefit from this trend.

Walgreens has beauty advisors in all 4,859 stores. Eckerd and Brooks Pharmacy stores have skin-care centers, and Rite Aid, too, is testing the beauty advisor concept. With these services, trolling the aisles in confusion may soon be a thing of the past.
