Earlier this year, the editors at Reader’s Digest selected 10 important causes facing our nation and asked our community of readers to vote for the one that mattered most to them. In the spring, we held a face-off between the two front-runners: the environment and literacy & education.

The winning cause was literacy & education. Now, we are organizing Make It Matter Day on October 3, 2009, to rally our communities behind this important cause.
Join us across the country to support this cause by participating in literacy events at your local Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCAs.
