Help Us Support Literacy and Education

On Make it Matter Day, Saturday, October 3, 2009, we will rally our communities--and all Americans--behind literacy and education.

Earlier this year, the editors at Reader’s Digest selected 10 important causes facing our nation and asked our community of readers to vote for the one that mattered most to them. In the spring, we held a face-off between the two front-runners: the environment and literacy & education.

The winning cause was literacy & education. Now, we are organizing Make It Matter Day on October 3, 2009, to rally our communities behind this important cause. Join us across the country to support this cause by participating in literacy events at your local Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCAs. Plus, enter to win a trip to New York City on October 3rd for our Make It Matter event at the New York Public Library. Check back in September for full details.
