Thank you for this story. My son who is under age, received twice, a letter from the same scam as in your article. He was sent a check for $3,600 of which he was to cash and keep about 300 of it for his secret shopper fees and earnings. He was suppose to use some of it to stay at a hotel. And then for their testing, he was to mail $3,100 to go thru Western Union (they were supposedly "secret shopping" them to see how well that works. Thank you for validating me throwing it in the shredder.
We just received a letter claiming to be from Reader's Digest saying that we won the RD Lotto and had won $425,000. We e-mailed RD and are waiting to learn if it is real or a scam.
We just received a letter notifying us that we won a Reader's Digest Lotto prize, and are waiting to hear from RD about whether it is real or a scam.
They enclosed a check for about 10% of the total winnings. We'll see.
