This article does a fantastic job of taking quotes from industry respected cleaners, and turning them around into mis-truths. For example, many cleaners will dry clean a garment, but because of the quantity and type of stains, the cleaner will have to take EXTRA sleaninf processes such as wetcleaning, extra manual stain removal processes, and a lot more. It isn't uncommon that a dry cleaner will clean and reclean a garment three or four times to remove all the soil.
that article was eye opening, makes me never want to take my stuff to a dry cleaner again! if YOU lose my clothing YOU WILL FIND IT or YOU will pay me for it! PERIOD! and btw since it is a skill to be a dry cleaner, if any of my clothing comes back damaged, YOU WILL pay me for it! this article has made me lose all respect for dry cleaners, it makes you sound disshonest and deceitful!
My family has owned and run a dry cleaning business for 75 yrs, Perc is no longer used in up to date facilities. The machines dont require stills anymore either and are safe for the environment and the people working around the chemicals now. And a good shop will use a spotting board and other techniques to get stains out, but that doesnt mean they know what they are doing either - it does mean that prespiration gets removed by a spotter, not a washer and dryer. :)
