St, Louis, MO has a fabulous park, larger than Central Park called Forest Park. In it you will find walking and biking trails, the St. Louis Science Center, The History Museum, the Art Museum, The St. Louis Zoo, (which all have free admissions, compliments of the citizens of St. Louis City and County.); The Muny is an outdoor ampitheater that puts on Broadway shows, free seats are available in the last 6 rows; Shakespeare Festival is outdoors for a month, free play, bring your own chairs; etc
Whenever folks are in Washington DC they should stop by the NATIONAL CATHEDRAL and the adjacent BISHOP'S HERB GARDEN. Peaceful and free . . . . lots of docent help within the cathedral itself. Children especially love the Children's Chapel with it's scaled-down pew and organ, and Noah's Ark theme; they also love roaming through the catecombs.
Truly a national treasure!
