My sister recently died after battling Inflammatory Breast Cancer for about 9 months. She didn't know until it was too late. Her nipple had inverted and the breast became hard and was painful. After she went for her biopies the cancer spread so fast it was unbelievable. I am 36 y/o and thought I should go for a mammogram just to be safe. They saw something and did the ultrasound and now want me to get a biopsy. I saw first hand what the biopsies did to my sister. What is your opinion?
Just read your article in the April 2009 issue especially the insert by Laurie Tarkham. I have a Gleason score of 6 consequently what she says relative to the genes is certainly intriguing. Can this be determined by looking the pathology slides? Who should do this? Where can I find out more about this approach? Thank you for any help that you can give me. John
