What is your reaction to how the world views the United States?

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but this study is fundamentally flawed. Even more important than the candidates, in this case, is the research. The subjects are primarily European. Breaking from the mindset of Europe was intrinsic to American national character. Do you see the names of any nations which are directly involved with US foreign policy on a daily basis? China. Israel. Palestine. Surely those peoples have a "vote" in this. And what about those countries where our citizens are fighting for our ideals-Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Let's not forget those places where we still aid our proponents and opponents from past conflicts. Did we forget Vietnam, the Koreas, and Panama? Does Cuba factor into this? And then, there's places like the Darfur region of Sudan. Though still a volatile and heartbreaking situation, the selfless efforts of thousands of American who are willing to put politics behind and work and donate in the name of HUMANITY are felt there everyday. When we say "THE WORLD" do we mean the 17 republics where we extended our intellectual, magazine-editing tentacles, or do we refer to the whole globe?

22f4mccain: Anyone who voted for Obama doesn't understand the concept of catching wild pigs - You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity. That is exactly what is happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms - just a little at a time. One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! A politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

22f4mccain - Look on the bright side. Now that Obama has been elected using MSM bias, we no longer need to worry about terrorists coming over here and bombing us. Obama and his terrorist cronies will destroy America from the inside. Since he stole the election using the press and ACORN, I guess we can be like the liberals against Bush and say "He isn't my president. I didn't vote for him".

Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day. Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' discharge after a few days in the brig. So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane! Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.'
