Think what would happen if our world was made by Dr. Seuss, by Emily Reeves, Age 11
There once were two worlds that were different indeed. So different in fact that in one there was fleas.
But these fleas had clothes, they were so boring, more boring than Sue! And that's where we start;
with a girl named Sue, who was probably even more boring than you!
"What shall I do today? Shall I take a stroll
to the park, go to the museum, ooh I know
I'll go to the library, I'll have a blast!"
Sue had no friends and she never had fun.
But this wasn't over, she was not done. For
on this day. A cat came to town, the cat in
the hat, he came right down on down! He'd
teach her, he'd teach her what fun kids can
do; he'd teach this boring girl named Sue.
"What in the world are you doing in my
house? Get out. I say, get out!" "My dear
child," said the cat in the hat. " I have
come to teach you how to have fun! But
no need to thank me, for my work here will soon be done."
So hours past as they studied together and right outside there was horrible weather. The cat had
a plan, or more like a test to make sure Sue was truly the best.
"Sue, Sue may I speak to you, for we still have so much to do. I have something to ask you, something
that's new; I'd like to know what you would do."
The cat explained how they studied together when outside there was horrible weather. Then he asked
her what she would do" ... if something like this was to happen to you?"
"I'd call Dr. Seuss, that's what I'd do, because he's the one who created you!"
With rosy cheeks and a tip of his hat, he left the house, and that was that, And if you think you know
this Sue, I might as well know you, too.
