10 Rules for Avoiding Divorce from a Couple of Daily Show Comedians (Who Happen to Be Married to Each Other)

by Beth Dreher

Celebrity couples rarely have the most realistic view of marriage. Some A-listers employ multiple six-figure nannies. Others presumably  spend more time apart than together.

But if any well-known couple can offer common-sense relationship advice,  it’s Samantha Bee and Jason Jones, comedians best known for their work on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. In addition to working together, the duo, who have been married since 2001, share a two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan with their three children (all under the age of 7), Piper, Fletcher, and Ripley. “We’re very lucky we like each other,” says Bee. The funny couple recently shared their ten rules for avoiding divorce with Real Simple (rule #2: If you’re irritated with your partner, imagine him as a small child). Read the complete list here.
