Bond’s Biggest Blockbuster (and Best Music)

by Chuck Davis

Skyfall opened last weekend to nearly $90 million at the box office, making it the biggest opening for a Bond film ever. If you’re like me, you’ll wait a few days for all the rabid fans to clear out before seeing it: A hit like this will be around for a while.

Speaking of being around for a while, the title songs of the Bond films have come and gone—some were hits and some were stinkers—but the very first theme song is still the best: It’s the one that sooner or later pops up in all of them. And if that’s the best theme song, then this a cappella version by Nick McCaig and Julien Neel (AKA Trudbol) is the best cover by far.

There’s more where this came from. Check out McKaig’s and Trudbol’s YouTube pages.
