Marry you? Marry me!

by Andy Simmons

Marry you? Marry me!
Marriage proposals are tough. Ask my wife. She had a lot of trouble proposing to me. I made it easier on her by saying “Uhm, yeah, sure.” Of course, one wants to get the right reaction after the question has been popped. That, after all, is part of the experience. For example, saying “No, I don’t wish to marry you,” is considered a poor response. A blubbery, sobbing mess, while unsanitary, is better.

Amy Frankel, who lives in Oregon, had maybe the best reaction. There were tears, various looks of surprise, and much laughter. The proposal from her boyfriend Isaac Lamb may have had a lot to do with that. He got his friends and family to join in on a wonderfully choreographed and lip-synced rendition of the jaunty song “Marry You,” by Bruno Mars.

I must say, after watching this video, I almost said “Yes!” to Lamb myself, but Frankel beat me to it.
