The Great Pumpkin Returns: Pumpkin Pringles, Anyone?

By Rachel Mount Hofstetter

pumpkin piePumpkin Pop Tarts, pumpkin bagels, and even… Pumpkin Pringles?

Oh, it’s true. Pumpkin-flavored is everywhere. In light of that, Serious Eats headed to Trader Joe’s to try all of their pumpkin (or pumpkin spice) flavored products. There are almost 20, from pumpkin cream cheese to pumpkin dog treats.

The big winner? Pumpkin butter. This spread is simple, creamy pumpkin puree (no actual butter) mixed with spices and sugar; try it on toast or in plain yogurt. The pumpkin ice cream (which is actually made with 20 percent real pumpkin puree) also got high marks.

And what am I making for prime pumpkin season? A version of my favorite baked oatmeal with pumpkin puree from thekitchn and this black bean pumpkin soup.
Of course, if Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte is your type of pumpkin happiness, here’s how to make it at home.
