They’re Real: The Snow Monsters of Mount Zao

There’s nothing better than receiving a bit of worldly inspiration while seated at your office desk. On my travels, I’ve uncovered pink water in Senegal, West Africa and a wild-looking bio-luminescent lake in Australia.
My most recent discovery: The Snow Monsters of Mount Zao. Snowshoe over Japan’s 5,577-foot-high mountain and come upon these icy demons, or “juyho,” in Japanese. But have no fear, they are actually Aomori fir trees coated with wind-blown ice and snow. Skiers and hikers travel to the mountain to take in the snowy sculpture garden. I’m jealous.
